If
Trees Could Talk…
… the stories they would tell. Rough Point’s
trees have witnessed 150 years of history and NRF is launching
a project to unlock their secrets. As part of its commitment
to preserving Newport’s history, inside and out, NRF
will be conducting a survey of Rough Point’s historic
tree collection and invites the public to participate in
this fascinating learning opportunity. We’ll kick-off
the project with a lecture given by Chris Fletcher of Bartlett
Tree Experts, an international leader in the care of historic
arboretums, and Sarah Drake of Madison Spencer Architects,
an expert in landscape design history.
Lecture, accompanied by hot cider and autumn sweets, in
Rough Point’s Great Hall, followed by an in-depth
look at select trees outside.
