What Comes Down, Must Go Up!
A house without its roof is a beautiful thing…
when the lack of roof, interior walls and other finishes
allow you to see the fascinating timber-framed structure
beneath. Last spring the Newport Restoration Foundation
rescued the c.1800 Almy-Corey house by dismantling it and
moving it to Prescott Farm. Now, it is being rebuilt, and
you are invited to come tour its half-finished state. A
slide lecture illustrating the dismantling and rebuilding
process will accompany the tour. Autumn treats provided.
